Anderson Barbosa, Bass, a native of Sao Paulo, studied violin at the Villa-Lobos Conservatory and the Guarulhos Municipal Conservatory. He studied singing at Cruzeiro do Sul University, under the tutelage of Walter Chamun. He also studied under Professor Francisco Campos, and in Würzburg, Germany, was tutored by Professor Martin Hummel.

 

Already participated in several MasterClasses, having as instructors Luis Tenaglia, Marília Vargas, Eliane Coelho and Nicolau de Figueiredo (Brazil), Manuela Custer, Katia Ricciarelli and Maestro Marco Boemi (Italy), Felicity Lott (United Kingdom), Gregory Reinhart and Susan Ruggiero (USA), and also the Polish Pianist Maciej Pikulski.

Was a soloist in works such as Missa da Paz by Almeida Prado, Zigeunerleben by R. Schumann and Kantate BWV 235 by JS Bach, under the baton of names such as Naomi Munakata, Samuel Kerr and Júlio Medaglia.

He graduated from the Opera Academy of Theatro São Pedro, under the guidance of André dos Santos, Daniella Carvalho and Luiz Fernando Malheiro, where he participated in the Recitals of Beethoven Songs, Russian Songs and in the Opera Scenes by Gaetano Donizetti as Raimondo, in ( Lucia di Lammermmoor ), and in (Catarina Cornaro ), as Andrea.

 

Cited by the Italian magazine L'Opera for the musical and interpretative beauty of his performance as Herman in Tannhäuser, bass Anderson Barbosa has frequently performed as a soloist in the most prestigious opera houses and concert halls in Brazil, including Sala São Paulo, Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, Teatro Amazonas, Teatro Guaíra de Curitiba, Sala da OSPA in Porto Alegre, Teatro da Paz/Belém, Theatro São Pedro in São Paulo, Theatro Pedro II in Ribeirão Preto, Auditorium Claudio Santoro in Campos do Jordão, etc.

Mozart, Calchas in the opera La Belle Hélène by Offenbach, L'arbre in the opera L'enfant et les Sortilèges by Ravel, Colline in the opera La Bohème and Simone in Gianni Schicchi by Giacomo Puccini, Strojnik in Věc Makropulos by Leoš Janáček, Un père de Famille in L'enfance du Christ by Berlioz, Capelio in I Capuleti ei Montecchi, Tchelio in L'amour des Trois Orange, Solo Bass in Der Ozeanflug and the Mother in Die Sieben Todsünden by Kurt Weill, Uberto in La Serva Padrona by G. He has performed solo work in works such as Almeida Prado's Missa da Paz, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Mozart's Requiem, Verdi's Requiem, Gounod's Messe solennelle en l'honneur de Sainte-Cécile, and several Bach cantatas.

 

He has worked under the musical direction of Luiz Fernando Malheiro, Silvio Viegas, Claudio Cruz, Roberto Minczuk, Priscila Bomfim, Carlos Prazeres, Ira Levin, Abel Rocha, Alex Klein, André dos Santos, Catherine Larsen-Maguire, Gabriel Rhein-Schirato, and Manfredo Schmiedt, Ligia Amadio, among others, and under the stage direction of Jorge Takla, Caetano Vilela, Gino Quilico, Mauro Wrona, Caetano Pimentel, and Carlos Harmuch.
